A certified nurse aide is an individual who works primarily in long-term care facilities or nursing homes. The CNA assists residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, or eating. A CNA works under the direct supervision of licensed practical nurse or registered nurse and can perform only procedures that are within the scope of practice for a CNA.
Our Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program consists of 120 clock hour of coordinated theory, lab and clinical learning activities. The program covers
concepts on basic nursing skills. It is designed to prepare students function under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in various healthcare settings.
Successful completion of the program will lead to eligibility to sit for the competency exam administered by Indiana Health Department(IDOH), upon successful passing of the state competency exam, the student’s name will be added in the Nurse
Aide Registry which means that a student can work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in healthcare facilities.
Being a CNA will open new doors that will allow you to specialize your skills. Depending on what path you choose, you can either focus on adult care or pediatrics while building a career working within a specialty you enjoy. Whether you love assisting new parents who are bringing their infant home for the first time, or an aging adult with complex medical needs, becoming a professional caregiver puts you on the right career path to success and fulfillment.
